Patient care and genuine contact with my patients is the most important thing in this profession to me and it helps me to carry on. Feedback from grateful patients that I can help in some way makes my work feel worthwhile.

When I was choosing my specialty, I was particularly interested in this specialty’s positive attitude to life: I think it was wonderful to be able to see children being born. With age, however, I have become increasingly interested in cancers and older patients. The diversity of this specialty made me realize very early on in my studies that I have found my calling.
