Sanna Karhunen

I got the chance to learn about the work of a midwife during my practical training here at Kuopio University Hospital, when I was studying to become a practical nurse. Originally, I planned to become a paediatric nurse, but I got enthusiastic about the work of a midwife for its independence and versatility.

I find it very meaningful and interesting to work with both the mother and the baby. In my work, I find it most important that my patients feel safe and that they are in skilled hands.
